Government, since the 1930s, has practices two ideas. 1) Wealth redistribution from the relatively productive to the relatively unproductive. 2) Intervention in the affairs of private enterprise either by regulation or by direct competition. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are examples of government propping up bogus companies to obstruct real businesses from setting their own lending rules and maximizing profits. It's socialism which pretends to be capitalism.
